OUR SERVICES
After Hours Primary Care
Family Care Medical Services provides After Hours primary medical care services in Greater Brisbane, Ipswich, the Sunshine Coast, the Gold Coast and Northern Sydney. We understand that sickness and illness can strike at any time and we appreciate how difficult it can be to see a doctor late at night and on weekends. Our service provides access to General Practitioner care during the after hours period (see our hours of operation below). Our home visiting service allows patients that are housebound, residents of aged care facilities and those who are simply unable to get to a GP or Emergency Department, to access high quality medical care in the comfort and convenience of their own home during the after hours period. Our home visiting service is provided on behalf of General Practitioners that subscribe to our service.
We also operate four after hours GP clinics in South-East Queensland and, with the assistance of the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing, will be opening our first after hours GP clinic at Ryde in NSW in early October.
HOME VISITING SERVICE
When a General Practitioner subscribes to our service, we provide their patients access to our after hours home visiting service, which is just a phone call away. Our Medical Referral Assesors will take the patient's details and arrange for a doctor to visit the patient in the comfort and convenience of their own home. In order to access our home visiting service, your regular GP needs to subscribe to our service and you need to be within our service area. AFTER HOURS GP CLINICS
We believe that to provide world class after hours primary care, we must give patients the choice to access medical care through after hours GP clinics as well as through our home visiting service.
Family Care Medical Services currently operates four after hours GP clinics. Our clinics at Caloundra, Logan and Caboolture are all located within the local hospital and are close to the Accident and Emergency Departments. These clinics provide an alternative to those patients who could be treated by a GP rather than waiting for service in a busy Emergency Department.
No appointments are necessary at any of our clinics and most consultations are bulk billed.

- Family Care Medical Services is an Accredited Medical Deputising Service with accreditation by Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited (AGPAL).
- Our quality system is independently audited and is certified to the international quality standard ISO9001:2000.
- Family Care Medical Services is a member of the National Association for Medical Deputising (NAMDS), which has strict quality guidelines associated with its membership.
In addition, our Board of Medical Directors provides clinical oversight of our services to ensure that all of our patients receive the very best medical care when they are visited by a Family Care Medical Service doctor.
